Does the soul exist?

Evidence says: ‘Yes!’

‘Yet, the current scientific paradigm doesn’t recognize this spiritual dimension of life. We’re told we’re just the activity of carbon and some proteins; we live awhile and die. And the universe? It too has no meaning. It has all been worked out in the equations – no need for a soul. But biocentrism – a new ‘theory of everything’ – challenges this traditional, materialistic model of reality. In all directions, this outdated paradigm leads to insoluble enigmas, to ideas that are ultimately irrational. But knowledge is the prelude to wisdom, and soon our worldview will catch up with the facts.’

Take a boo at this amazing article published in: Psychology Today, a popular magazine for Shrinks, and those who would like there heads examined…

Why is it we can’t say the full name of Jesus, without swearing?

‘In the name of our beloved Lord: Jesus Christ! – Amen’  It’s a different connotation to what your mind ‘wants’ to believe, considering the amount of blasphemous comments made in this word today!  Our kids go into Pool Halls filled with blue smoke you must breathe in, whether you want to or not!  They all have their hats on backwards!  That should tell you something’s wrong right there!  They speak in whispers, and with their eyes; like they’ve all got something to hide…  Then someone approaches you and your friend, and asks: ‘Would you like to play a game of doubles with me and my friend: 88 Fingers Louis?  And before you can say: WHAT THE &%!! Happened???’  You are now in debt to some very unscrupulous people!  If your soul (You!), isn’t a valuable possession to them, how come everyone wants a piece of it?  Corruption brings you everything that’s wrong!  What about what’s right?

What does the Bible say that helps us to understand what the soul is?

Gen. 2:7  And Jehovah God went on to form the man out of dust+ from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life,+ and the man became a living person.’  (Notice that this does not say that Man was given a soul but that he became a soul, a living person.)

1 Cor. 15:45   So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living person.”*+ The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.+  ( So the Christian Greek scriptures agree with what the Hebrew Scriptures say a soul is. )

Eccl. 12:7; è Then the dust returns to the earth,+ just as it was, and the spirit*returns to the true God who gave it.+  (This simply means that your body goes to the  grave and God holds onto you, your soul or spirit or essence if you like, until The Great Day of Judgement;  The resurrection of the dead, who will be judged according to their deeds.)

The Resurrection: Mt. 22: 29-33

In reply Jesus said to them: “You are mistaken, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God;+ 30  for in the resurrection neither do men marry nor are women given in marriage, but they are as angels in heaven.+ 31  Regarding the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, who said: 32  ‘I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob’?+ He is the God, not of the dead, but of the living.”+ 33  On hearing that, the crowds were astounded at his teaching.+

Acts 24: 15,16  And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection+ of both the righteous and the unrighteous.+16  Because of this I always strive to maintain a clear* conscience before God and men.+

John 11:25,26  èJesus said to her: “I am the resurrection and the life.+ The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life; 26  and everyone who is living and exercises faith in me will never die at all.+

    • You are welcome seeker! Some of us will gain ever-lasting life after the resurrection, but we have yet to earn immortality… These spirits are Angels and Demons only. In speaking to His Apostles, he replied: The place to which you are going, is the Grave…

There is no awareness of the passage of time in the Grave. Eons could pass, and you would not know. So for you, when you die, it would be as though you had just closed your eyes, and immediately re-opened them again.

    • The soul is just the body, be it for an animal or human being. It dies and becomes dust; This is the same for plants, animals and human beings, once they die it is finished and human beings are not able to think or do anything any more.
“For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.” (Ecclesiastes 9:5 AKJV)

“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, where you go.” (Ecclesiastes 9:10 AKJV)

“His breath goes forth, he returns to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.” (Psalms 146:4 AKJV)

“For in death there is no remembrance of you: in the grave who shall give you thanks?” (Psalms 6:5 AKJV)

“19 For that which befalls the sons of men befalls beasts; even one thing befalls them: as the one dies, so dies the other; yes, they have all one breath; so that a man has no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity. 20 All go to one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.” (Ecclesiastes 3:19-20 AKJV)

There are no spirits or extra terrestial beings in human beings or living around human beings.

  1. spartacus2030 we do believe in God and in God’s Word. It looks more that you do not follow God’s Word or even have an other God than the God of Abraham, Who created the earth and heavens.

    • ‘we’? So I take it I’m standing before a tribunal then. If you want to converse with people about God, you’d better speak to them in their language! Condeming me won’t win you a convert. Nor do you pocess the authority…

You use the Bible to whip people and remove theeir hope. You’d have us all dead and buried! Who’d worship or even respect a God that offers us death as an insentive?

If you had taken the time to examine my site, you’d find plenty of posts about how I relate to people about God. My flaw, is that I should have made a specific gategory for that. Maybe I’ll do that now. Thanks for the tip!

      • We do not condemn any body. Where do you get it form we ‘whip people and remove their hope”? If they have a wrong hope or imagine themselves things which are not Biblical, yes we do point at them, because out of love we do not want them to have false hopes and to become disappointed when they come to see the truth.
