How to fight off: The Splinter-netters…

Give them the slip!

A-Opera

Use a non-Windows based browser!  Believe it or not, it’s still a fairly useful strategy to move to a non-Windows based browser like Opera, if you intend to avoid the hordes of commercialism out there on The Internet.

Step 2

Forget about Microsoft…  You’re on your own.  That is, unless you want to dish out more money, of corpse…  I did get rid of all the commercials BTW, yet it wasn’t any one thing I did, but a combination of many.  Go into Windows Task Manager and disable as many programs from the start-up tab as you can.  A note of caution:  If you see a start-up program and don’t know what it is, don’t turn it off just yet.  You must find out it’s function first.  And matching processes up with services can be a long, tedious job.  Just shut down whatever doesn’t do anything that you specifically need, yet can identify.  OK?

Step 3

Get Advanced System Care 6!  http://www.iobit.com/advancedsystemcareper.html

Advanced_System_Care_6

It does a lot of things, such as doing a fantastic job cleaning up your registry, fixes browser errors, scans your drive for threats and boosts your security system.  It also comes with a “Boost” section” go in there and choose: “Fix All” and it will download a super defrag program and an excellent malware fighter!  That’s a great deal for FREE!

Step 4

Take advantage of FREE trial offers!  This is a must!  You must download Avast (Virus Checker) and check out their Premium software free for 21 days; during which time, you keep doing boot scans every second day and it will catch all kinds of stuff trying to mess up your system.  There is also a FREE version of Avast that comes with a one year usage agreement, as soon as you register.  They have people that can guard what comes in or out of your computer 24 hrs. a day…  FREE!  And if I get just 3 friends to try it out too, they’ll give me the premium software for FREE!  This applies to you as well, if you find three friends to try it out…  To tell you the truth, I think that’s what got rid of the commercials invading my site!  Here is the URL  http://download.cnet.com/Avast-Free-Antivirus-2014/3000-2239_4-10019223.html

Avast-1

Step 5

Run all your defense programs often and intermittently, and see if you can launch Opera Metro style, from your start screen if you’re using Window’s 8.  Else-wise be vigilant by getting Windows Scheduler to run these programs daily for you… I hope this will help some of you avoid what I’ve been through.  And stay away from Bill Gate’s big, dumb, Internet Explorer.  I find it more vulnerable than even Firefox.

If you look at the screen-shot above, you’ll see on your bottom right, Opera has a handy magnifier slider, for difficult to read text. Many of you find a problem, especially with screen-shots like this, and have to resort to the ctrl + keys and worry about how much it was magnified by.  Well here ya go.  And yes, it will import your bookmarks from Explorer or Firefox.  Cheers!

  1. Howdy! This is my first comment here so I just
wanted to give a quick shout out and tell you I truly enjoy reading your
articles. Can you recommend any other blogs/websites/forums that deal with the same subjects?

    Thanks a ton!

  2. Its such as you read my thoughts! You appear to
understand so much approximately this, such as you wrote the
e-book in it or something. I think that you simply can do with a few p.c.
to drive the message house a little bit, however instead of that, that
is great blog. An excellent read. I will definitely be back.

  3. Do you mind if I quote a few of your articles as long as I provide
credit and sources back to your webpage? My blog is
in the exact same niche as yours and my users would certainly
benefit from some of the information you present here.
Please let me know if this ok with you. Many thanks!

  4. Hi there would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re using?
I’m going to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having
a hard time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs and
I’m looking for something completely unique. P.S My apologies for getting
off-topic but I had to ask!
